The Yearbook Landscape Architecture and Urban Design 2024 in the Netherlands, published by Blauwe Kamer, highlights the redevelopment of the Kazerneterreinen in Ede. We are proud to have been working for several years on designing various outdoor spaces for the World Food Center. The World Food Center connects the city with the Sysseltse Forest. This former site of the Mauritskazerne in Ede is being transformed into the leading food meeting place in the Netherlands. Characteristic features include the historic barracks buildings and the forested landscape, which brings the essence of the Veluwe to life. The key themes of the development are food for humans and animals, nature, and community. These themes are brought to life through the creation of collective food gardens and landscapes.
